thank you Becky for sharing your story. for me it is helpful to read about other parents having to fight against prejudice and stereotypes. I don’t know Las Vegas but I experienced family life in a predominant white environment and can say that it is difficult for biracial children and in my case it helped a lot to travel often with them to places more diverse and to join a group of interracial families, even if it was faraway.

Congrats on your 12 years together. Thank goodness it is becoming more accepted these days. I am a white woman married to a black man, together for almost 23 years, with 5 children, and 2 grandchildren. We have been very fortunate not to have experienced much negativity where we live.

Hi! I’m Stephany (28 yrs old) and I live in the Vegas area. I have been with my significant other going on 4 yrs. I am white and he is hispanic and black. While we don’t have a family of our own yet, several family members on my side are against interracial relationships and are racist. It is very difficult to handle, even though I love him for him and refuse to break it off. We will be starting a family and they will have to accept it or write us off. Anyway, sorry for that long story. I’d love to make more friends that may be able to relate to the struggles of this ignorance from some. I saw you were moving here and thought I would say hello.
